Formability study and metallurgical properties analysis of FSWed AA 6061 blank by the SPIF process

Abstract In this study, in order to obtain the maximum possible formability tailor-welded blank AA6061 sheets connected by friction stir welding (FSW) procedure, incremental sheet forming process has been utilized. The results are presented both numerically and experimentally. To limit angle, base FSWed were formed different angles with conical geometry, ultimately, angle for metal is estimated be 60° 57.5°, respectively. explore effects of procedures on sheets, experimental studies such as mechanical properties, microstructure fracture analysis carried out samples. Also, thickness distribution samples studied investigate effect distribution. Then, numerical was simulated ABAQUS commercial software study causes failure through analyzing parameter, major minor strains strain Causes include increased strain, welded areas, especially proximity area.
